A native of San Francisco, Dr. Leland H. Rosenblum graduated magna cum laude from the Ivy League’s Brown University. He is a graduate of the University of California San Francisco Medical School, where he is now an assistant clinical professor at Natividad Medical Center. He received his specialty training in ophthalmology at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco.
Dr. Rosenblum has been in private practice on the Monterey Peninsula since 1994. He first joined Monterey Bay Eye Center, and then became a key leader of Monterey County Eye Associates in 1998. He has consistently excelled throughout his career as an ocular surgeon, earning widespread recognition for his care. He was voted the Monterey Peninsula's best ophthalmologist from 2008-2010 and 2012-2020 by The Carmel Pine Cone.

Dr. Rosenblum proved his elite skill and knowledge of ophthalmology by becoming a board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He achieved this by meeting rigorous educational requirements, passing a written exam, and passing an in-person examination testing his patient care and management skills.
Fellow, American Academy of Ophthalmology
1995 to present
The American Academy of Ophthalmology is the world’s biggest association of eye physicians and surgeons. To become a Fellow, one must be certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and hold a medical degree recognized by the Board of Trustees of the Academy. Dr. Rosenblum applied for fellowship in 1995 and has maintained his honored status ever since.

Dr. Rosenblum’s outstanding ocular knowledge led to multiple teaching appointments. From 1996 to 2002, he served as Assistant Clinical Professor at California Pacific Department of Ophthalmology. From 2001 to the present day, he has been an Assistant Clinical Professor at Natividad Medical Center.
A Vast Array of Clinical Interests
His clinical interests include small incision cataract surgery, with advanced technology lenses, pterygium surgery, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy care, refractive surgery, dry eye care, and oculoplastics (eyelid) surgery.
He was the first ophthalmologist in Monterey County to implant the ReSTOR® intraocular lens, the Panoptix® trifocal intraocular lens, the Symfony ® intraocular lens, and the Vivity ® intraocular lens.
