Elaine J. Zhou, MD Cornea Specialist
Dr. Elaine Zhou was born in Los Angeles, California and grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. She completed her undergraduate degree at Yale University, graduating with distinction in Biomedical Engineering. She completed her medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania, receiving research honors in Ophthalmology. She received her residency training in Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine at the Texas Medical Center, where she was also chosen to serve as Chief Resident and was awarded the Stephen N. Schindler Award, recognizing the resident who most embodies high ethical and humane standards. Dr. Zhou went on to pursue additional Fellowship training at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami, specializing in cornea, external eye diseases, and refractive surgery.
Dr. Zhou is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Cornea Society. She has published numerous articles in medical journals, written several book chapters, and presented research at various local and national meetings.
Board-certified and licensed in Ophthalmology, Dr. Zhou is a highly skilled physician and surgeon, with broad clinical and surgical experiences. She cherishes her relationships with her patients and strives to take time to listen and understand the unique needs of every patient. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, hiking, running, and playing tennis and pickleball.
