Awaken Your Appearance Benefits of BOTOX

Non-Invasive

BOTOX is a non-invasive procedure that is virtually painless, thanks to a topical anesthetic applied before the injections. Since the procedure is non-invasive, there is no recovery time, but you may experience mild symptoms after your treatment. To avoid excessive swelling and bruising, refrain from strenuous activity for about 24 hours, but you can return to non-strenuous activities immediately after your appointment.

Quick Procedure

The botulinum toxin procedure itself only takes about 10 minutes, though treatment times depend on the location and the number of injection sites. We primarily perform BOTOX injections around the eye area, which can often be completed in a short period of time.

Fast Results

You don't have to wait long to see the results of the botulinum toxin. Effects are noticeable in as little as 24 to 48 hours after your appointment. The full extent of your results will be visible within 30 days and the results last around four to six months. BOTOX is not a permanent treatment, but you can receive touch-up treatments at regular intervals.

What Does BOTOX
Treatment Cost?

BOTOX is priced by the unit, and the total cost of your treatment will depend on your goals, the extent of your treatment, and other factors. For example, it can take 24 units or more to treat crow's feet around both eyes. During your visit, we will provide you with an estimated cost of treatment so you can make an informed decision about whether to undergo this simple cosmetic enhancement. If you have an appointment for another purpose, such as a routine eye exam, get in touch to see if we can add a BOTOX consult so you can get the information you need.

What to Expect When Receiving BOTOX

If you're a good candidate for BOTOX, we may offer the injections on the same day as your consultation.
If you're a good candidate for BOTOX, we may offer the injections on the same day as your consultation.

Consulting With Our Team

One of our highly trained team members will meet with you for an initial consultation at one of our Monterey offices. Here, we will observe your facial muscles while they are active and resting. This way, we can identify the precise locations to inject the BOTOX and how much product is ideal for your needs.

Numbing the Injection Site

If you're a good candidate for BOTOX, we may offer the injections on the same day as your consultation. BOTOX injections can be less painful than receiving a shot at the doctor's office. That's thanks to our topical anesthetic cream that numbs the treatment area where the injection is administered.

Injecting the BOTOX

Our team will inject the botulinum toxin into the desired areas to reduce muscle movement. Your injector may gently massage the injection site to ensure the product is evenly spread throughout the area.

Leaving Our Office

No bandages are required following BOTOX treatment. You can leave our office right after your procedure and return to non-strenuous activities right away.

Following Aftercare Instructions

To ensure you get the most out of your injections and lower the chances of bruising and swelling, avoid alcohol and exercise for 24 hours after treatment and avoid touching your face to keep the botulinum toxin from migrating to other areas.

Does BOTOX Have Side Effects?

Many side effects of botulinum toxin are temporary and not a cause for concern as they will subside on their own. However, if your symptoms worsen or if you have any serious symptoms, such as trouble breathing or swallowing, reach out to a medical professional right away. Common side effects and those found in studies include, but are not limited to:

Swelling

It's common to have some swelling and redness for a few hours after you receive BOTOX injections. You will be able to go about your day without needing any downtime, so if you have a busy day, you'll be fine—just be sure to avoid doing anything strenuous.

Discomfort

You might have a little pain or swelling for a day or two after you receive your injections, but don't worry—this is normal. If you feel the need, take a dose of acetaminophen to control the discomfort until it subsides on its own.

Flu-Like Symptoms (Uncommon)

In some cases—but not commonly—patients may experience feelings of fatigue or nausea, similar to what you might experience at the onset of the flu. These symptoms are typically mild and subside with rest. Avoiding alcohol, avoiding strain, and staying hydrated for the first 48 hours after treatment can greatly reduce these symptoms.

“A+.”

“So far, I've been very pleased at the great hospitality at the front desk and I've never experienced any long, long wait time to see the Doctor once arriving at the Office. I must say, the awesome expertise of each one of the eye Doctors I've seen thus far, all are A+”
