Contact Lenses vs. LASIK

It may seem that LASIK has some clear advantages over contact lenses, but that’s not the case for all patients. LASIK is quite convenient as it eliminates the need to wear contact lenses or any corrective lenses following surgery. By getting LASIK, you may even save money in the long run compared to wearing contacts since you won’t have to pay for cleaning solution and new lenses.
But that said, Monterey contact lenses may be the better option for some patients since not all people are good candidate for LASIK or its alternative refractive surgeries. If you suffer from dry eye syndrome, LASIK is generally not a good idea for you since dry eye is a common symptom in the months following LASIK surgery. Poor cornea health or other issues with the cornea may also prevent you from undergoing LASIK surgery given the way that the surgery is performed.
